Now that we have reached out 200th Episode, it was time to have a party for our Patrons, Future Crew, Friends, and Family. But, before the party could kick off, we had to finish up the paint and add support beams for lighting and wiring in the ceiling.
We made it to 200 episodes! And, we achieved our goal for our big party, primer painting the salon and cockpit. We also put together shots from all 200 episodes, showing how we got to this point in the build of our Solitaire 1520.
We tackled more carbon fiber work this week, adding our Bobstay mounts, then got to work on the galley, adding in the farmhouse sink. By the end of the week, we were working on the forward cabin bed supports.
With one done, it was time to complete the set of four carbon fiber chain plates to hold up our mast! But, we also got started on the forward cabin bed on the starboard side, plus more! And, we got in our back up anchor!
We tackle our first cap shroud, laying down 40 layers of carbon fiber. We also work on the galley arm, plus get a lot of fairing and sanding done. We also spend time building more of the cabinetry in the starboard heads.
We continue our work on fairing and sanding in the Salon and Cockpit, but the real challenge this week was getting started building the holders for the four carbon fiber chainplates on both sides of the boat.
We worked on the forebeam pyramids this week, adding carbon fiber strips. It has to be strong to hold up the mast! We also did a lot of other work, including fairing and sanding as we prep for our 200th episode party!
On the boat, we worked on the cupboards in the heads, and cut the barn door, then did some fairing and sanding in the cockpit. We also went over the remaining tasks to finish the boat, and announced our 200 episode party!
This week we take time to go over viewer comments about our outboard for the Tender and Dinghy, and comments about our choice of showers on board. Plus, we get a lot different boat work accomplished!
With the port side sole and daggerboard casing in, we turn to tabbing the sole into place and then building the head walls. But, we make a final change to the layout. We also share some news from Zerojet.
New verse, same as the first... yes, it was time to put the daggerboard casing into the port hull and glue down the sole, a repeat of two week's ago on the Starboard side. But, it's a catamaran, so redundancy is in it's nature!
With our Starboard side sole finally in, we got to add the final step in the stairway, and glass in the sole. Then we started on a new project, building the custom shower and head walls. It was a fun week!
We finished up two major projects that we have been working on for months, we got the first daggerboard casing installed and them glued down the sole under the heads and over the various diesel, black, and gray water tanks.
We got cracking on assembling the catwalk this week, and we worked hard on finishing up the soles for the head area in the hulls. At the end, we also took the time to answer some viewer questions as well!
We spent time on the inspection ports, the cockpit ceiling, and then got started on a whole new area, the Catwalk at the bow. Plus, we received an order from Selden that we will show you!
Now that we finished up the cabin top supports, it was time to go back down into the hulls to work in the bilges again. We get the final Alexseal 501 paint onto the bilges and get to work on finishing up the soles.
This week we concentrated on glassing in the cabin top support beams and the poles that hold it up. We also got further along on the bilges, getting the first coats of Alexseal Super Build epoxy primer down.

We made big progress on the built in diesel tanks, and progressed the mainsail track installation. If that wasn't enough, we also got started mounting the daggerboard casings into the side deck. Lots of work accomplished!
We got down and dirty in the bilges this week as we sealed up the diesel tanks and got to work on some of the other plumbing and conduits in the bilge areas. We also made progress on the mainsail track re-installation.
With the rains finished, we got to work up on the cabin top, painting the mainsail track area and installing the track again. We also got a lot of work done in the hulls on the fluid gauges for all our liquid tanks, gray, black, and diesel.
It was a double storm week, but we kept working anyway, shifting into my garage to work on the rudders and rudder boxes. Once the rain cleared, we assessed the damage and cleaned up the boat. Then we got to work!
We started tackling the cabin top support post installation, and did further work on the bilge tanks. Plus we took a look at the new head wall layout, and decided to make a major change to how it will be built.
We got to work on the western red cedar and G10 mainsail track lower reinforcements, and glassed the first layers over them. We cut out all the hatches and did the edge treatments on the soles that go down in the hulls.
We started the new steps for the sugar scoops, then had to redo some work on the mainsail track to rectify an omission of some reinforcement layers. We also worked on the steering and tank inspection ports.
We continued working on the stern of the boat this week, and along the way, decided to make a custom alteration to the way the steps work. It's a little more work, but we think it will make the boat better!
We started working out the mechanism for the kickup rudders, and progressed work on the sugar scoops for the stern decks. We also got to mounting the Goiot Mainsail track onto the cabin top.
After recovering from the massive rain storm the S/V Lynx crew got to work on building the sugar scoops, with their kick-up rudder mechanisms. They also continued work on the tank lids and the Nav Station.
We started on the difficult bows and the Starboard Sugar Scoop. Then a big rain storm arrived, but we kept working in my garage, making a Kick-up rudder box. We also give our the answer for how much diesel the tanks hold.
It's Christmas week... and Santa brought a massive rain storm. Oh well, we just rolled with the punches and kept working on our dream boat anyway. Plus, Marianne and Phil go over some of our sailing plans.
